if you have been a jw for 20+ years you may remember that the wt went into great detail on different illustrations that jesus used and the "type/anti-type" ridiculous explanations.
remember the revelation book and how those obscure jw conventions of the past pictured big things in heaven and the opening of seals?
anyway, the wt lessons for the next two weeks do two big things for me.
Didn't have a chance to read the lesson, but I did listen on the phone. Since I was busy, I got bits and pieces.
As I was hearing those bits and pieces, I thought "uh-oh, they are setting the foundation for another, if not several, changes in understanding".
How is this fortifying anyone's faith?
I'm pretty much out, but my wife is in, and I know that her reasoning will be that same 'reasoning' we used to use when we were in.
This is very frustrating.

It really didn't matter to me whether you posted an answer or not.
Either way, it's been enlightening to read the responses to the question.

When I read, on this site, people proclaiming they are now free of mind control, they are wrong.
They MAY BE free of the WTS, but their minds will still hold some of its influence, even deeply within the mind, and it will come out, given the right situation.
Aside from that, everyone's mind is controlled by...........what they read, what they hear, what they watch on TV, their past, and how much influence these things have on their thinking.
It doesn't matter if you agree, disagree, call me a troll, call me your ex-wife, say I'm on drugs. or whatever else you can come up with.
